Corporate governance

The Board of British Energy is committed to ensuring that high standards of corporate governance are maintained by the Group. It supports the Combined Code on Corporate Governance ('the Code'), so far as applicable to a subsidiary company, and has reviewed its corporate governance practices in the light of the Code published by the Financial Reporting Council in June 2006 and considers that it complies with section 1 of the Code. Corporate governance best practice is also monitored, and appropriate recommendations from relevant professional bodies are adopted.
