Making a powerful contribution
British Energy

Torness Local Liaison Committee

As a key player in the local communities in which we operate, British Energy continues to place great emphasis on engaging local stakeholders and encouraging open dialogue. We hold regular meetings with local people, organisations, media, council and emergency services representatives and local politicians to ensure a healthy dialogue with our neighbours.

The main Local Liaison Committee meets in April at Torness. In addition, a technical sub group, chaired by the Torness head of environmental safety, meets twice a year in March and September to discuss more technical matters and comprises experts from a number of organisations.
