How to become a supplier to British Energy
It is British Energy policy to procure goods and services from suppliers who operate safe working practices, deliver quality and environmental standards as well as being economically and ethically focussed.
British Energy utilises the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) of suppliers to support the identification of risks for its goods and services requirements. It is a condition that all suppliers who work on site or who supply goods or services classified as a high or medium risk to British Energy, are registered on UVDB. Furthermore for high and medium risk categories suppliers are required to submit to the Achilles UVDB Verify process. This will involve a thorough assessment of Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental capabilities resulting in an evaluation rating.
Certain suppliers will then also be subject to a British Energy site audit or site assessment. The UVDB/Verify system is a key part of our risk management strategy, ensuring that all suppliers demonstrate the expected capabilities. British Energy Supplier Qualification.
Sustainable Procurement Risk Assessment.
British Energy developed a risk model to determine the level of risk level associated with goods and services. The model provides the basis for Achilles to determine if UVDB registration is required and, if so, the level of Verify assessment each supplier must complete.
